Studio Policy

I will teach your child the language of music. I teach music with this single purpose: so my students will be able to give voice to that which they cannot say and for which they have no words. My studio has a positive and enthusiastic environment. I will tailor the curriculum to match your child’s specific learning needs.

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books and music. To make good progress, practice is necessary.

If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. Please err on the side of letting me know more so I can be sensitive to the needs of your child. A quick text even if on the way to lesson can make the difference between a great lesson and a difficult one. (Did Max just find out that he didn’t get the part in the play? Give me a heads up. Was Jane hospitalized on your recent trip to Thailand? Let me know!)

Tuition is charged by the school term payable by the last lesson of term.
There is a 5% discount if you pay by week 8 of the previous term.

This payment reserves your spot for the following term.

Payment is via bank transfer.

Any lesson that I have to cancel will be made up or a credit will be given.

If you are sick/unwell let me know ahead of time. You can send me a short video of what you are working on and I will give you feedback so that you can continue with your musical progress.

If you know ahead of time that you cannot make a private (one on one) lesson you also have the option to gift it to a friend. Please give me at least 48 hours notice so that I can prepare for your friend’s private (one on one) lesson.

Try to choose a lesson time in which you feel confident. Please understand that the tuition you pay reserves an exclusive weekly time in my schedule for your child. Students benefit greatly from a regularly scheduled music lesson.

The driveway is shared between two homes and five homes at various spots. Please do not block the driveway, be respectful of our neighbours and be careful about other vehicles and pedestrians.

Enjoy your musical adventure!
